It’s recommended that only babies over the age of 6 months should be placed in a high chair. Once your baby can sit up unaided and has started transitioning to solid foods (around the 6 month mark), then you can try moving over to a high chair.

Frequently Asked Questions
At what age should my baby start using a high chair?
Can I put my 3 month old in a high chair?
It is not recommended to put 3 month old babies in high chairs. At 3 month old, a child still requires external support to sit up by themselves. As such, a high chair doesn’t provide the necessary support for a 3 month old to be able to sit safely.
How long do babies use a high chair?
Once babies have started using a high chair (around 6 months old), they can use it until they’re ready to move on to normal chairs. The age of this graduation can range anywhere between 18 months to 3 years old. It all depends on your baby’s growth and development.
